I’m thrilled to conduct a Training of trainers workshop on Risk Analysis Planning & Protection for Human Rights Defenders with Front Line Defenders in Istanbul June 2022..

The training created an opportunity for the participants to learn more and be able to apply new insights to their situation. It created a safe space and nurtured our solidarity. Defenders need to do risk analysis and protection planning, share experiences in mitigating risks, and hopefully feel confident to train others on risk analysis and protection planning. It is crucial to determine the threats faced by HRDs or their organizations or family. Think why are they threatened, what are their responses to receiving a threat, know its sources, determine if there is a pattern of threats over time, and think of its impact.

Understanding the context is crucial to assess our Vulnerabilities and empower our Capacities to defeat risks, and set a Security Plan.
