Honored to be leading training workshop organized by elbarlament.org and Ministry of Justice as being a key ministry to maintain the Rule of Law in Iraq.
The training aimed to increase knowledge on women, peace, and security agenda, and the National Action Plan to implement UNSCR1325 in the Iraqi judiciary. It equipped the participants with relevant skills and competencies in order to be able to pursue and implement gender-sensitive policies and behavior within the judicial sector in Iraq. Gender lens was applied to every evaluation of analysis, policy and policy implementation with regard to peace and security
Several different departments were presented to ensure:
- Participation: More women participate equally and meaningfully in decision-making processes at every level in the interests of peace and security.
- Prevention: Conflict prevention and the prevention of violent extremism, that is based on the human rights approach and starts from the principle of human security.
- Protection: Women and girls rights, as well as men and boys are safeguarded and enforceable, and are protected against all forms of sexual and gender-based violence.
We hope women and girls have access to security and justice systems, and that all policies will be genderly sensitized and responsive.
