It is a great experience to accomplish six days of training on the behalf of the Geneva Institute for Human Rights to Law enforcement officials in Sudan.
The training was designed on the universal legal standards in which officers must respect their positive obligations. It also determined the actions that they have to refrain as they violate rights and freedoms or jeopardize human dignity, for example, the prohibition of torture and ill-treatment or Inhuman, degrading or cruel. It also extends to include the protection of fundamental values (respect for the rights and reputations of individuals, Protection of public order, promotion and protection of democratic values and human dignity).
The training developed a theoretical framework to understand the basic definitions, values and principles of human rights and the protection mechanisms provided by the relevant international and national covenants that promote human rights.
The outputs of this training course will contribute to the drafting Code of Conduct designed with a comprehensive approach to human rights.
